Booking info

Bookings are for the whole cottage for the duration of your stay and the price includes quality bed linen, bath sheets, hand towels, electricity and central heating. The only thing we charge for are logs for the open fire.

Check in is from 3pm on your first day and check out is 10am on your last day. Bookings are for a minimum stay of 2 nights during winter (November to March, excluding Easter) and 7 nights during the rest of the year. But if there's still last minute availability during the summer, we can sometimes sort out a short break so just ask anyway when it gets close to the time.

Change over day is usually a Saturday during the season, but you are welcome to come and go on any day during the winter. Sorry, but the cottage is strictly no-smoking and we're afraid we don't accepts any pets.

Payment info

Send me an email and I'll get back to you with prices and availability and anything else you need to know.

A deposit of £100 payable by cheque, bank transfer, or PayPal (which also accepts credit and debit cards) is required to confirm your booking. The balance of your holiday is then due six weeks before your arrival date, unless your holiday starts within six weeks of booking, in which case the full amount is due at the time of booking.

Cancellations, liability and data

We strongly recommend you take out cancellation insurance. If you have to cancel your holiday, every attempt will be made to re-let and refund the cost, less a £10 administration fee. But if the cottage cannot be re-let you may be liable to forfeit the deposit (if you cancel more than 28 days before the start of your stay) or the full cost of the cottage (if you cancel within 28 days).

We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer alternative accommodation. However, if this was not possible or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability does not extend beyond this refund.

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves. Any data collected during the course of this booking may be kept on computer. However, it will not be shared with any third parties.

Access statement

Arrival The majority of guests arrive at the cottage by car. There is a drive at the front of the cottage and a garage with step-free access. The car makes it possible to park the car within 5 metres of the front door and 10 metres of the back door. There is an infrequent bus service to Great Barugh, running between Malton and Pickering once on Mondays and once on Fridays. However, it is highly advisable, if not essential, to have a car at the cottage.

Entraces The front door is 350mm off the ground in two steps. The back door is 150mm high in a single step. The back door is accessed from a rear courtyard behind the cottage with step-free, gently-sloping access.

Inside All doors in the cottage are a standard width of 750mm. There is a downstairs toilet and washbasin that can be accessed from the living rooms step-free. All remaining bedrooms and the main bathroom are upstairs. The stairs are 750mm wide, comprising 13 steps. The risers are 190mm high and the treads are 260mm wide. There is a small landing connecting the bathroom and first bedroom on one side and the second and third bedrooms on another side. The landing has a step down on either side.
